● the missed-flight story

If I don't count taking the wrong buses in Barcelona or buying that wrong metro ticket in Madrid (these things are pretty much normal now, they don't surprise me or others), my second accomplishment in Spain after losing my laptop is missing my flight from Barcelona to Sevilla.

The Missed-Flight Story
  • Took the wrong metro.
  • Had to go through 7 stations instead of 1!
  • Because of that, missed the airport train there.
  • No worries, I still had time.
  • The next train was supposed to come in 30 minutes.
  • It didn't!
  • It came with a delay of 40 minutes!
  • The delay announcements increased the delay slowly.
  • First 5min delay, then 10min, then15min and so on ...
  • If they had said 40min. from the beginning, I would have taken a bus or taxi at least.
  • Arrived at the airport and made it to the check-in area.
  • It was 35min. before the flight.
  • The rule on the tickets says: I can only check in at least 40min. before the flight!
  • Vueling is one son-of-a-bitch airline company.
  • They didn't check me in and told me I had to buy a new ticket!
  • For 5 minutes!
  • If I had no luggage, I could just walk into the plane and they couldn't say anything.
  • So, I had to buy a new ticket from Spanir for the next flight.
  • The new ticket cost me 100€ while my original was only 40!
  • When I went to the gate for my flight, I found out my original flight leaves from the gate next to it.
  • The plane was still boarding!
  • There I was, with my original ticket who could easily get on that plane but no...
  • Vueling didn't let me, they wanted to sell another ticket.
  • Bastards...
  • So I had to wait there for an extra hour for my Spanair flight.
  • I was so bored that I took photos :)

the flight I took... they were right next to each other!
free internet at the airport! I love Barcelona :)
